Accountability
Our cleaners and inspectors are thoroughly checking your unit each time, so if there is something amiss such as a spill on the carpet, or a broken vase, we know it and will take the necessary steps to not only remedy the issue, but will withhold from the responsible party’s security deposit to cover the costs. We are hands-on in our management style and are in each property to inspect before and after each rental and during periods of vacancy. Our focus is communication with the homeowner, alerting you to preventative maintenance measures that are needed, and property care and upkeep.

We have the ultimate online reservation system for our future and repeat guests. Our website design is optimized and made convenient for all visitors. Guests may book online, or talk to a professional reservationist. Our website was designed by a leading major travel reservation company to ensure the utmost in ease for booking online.
Real-Time Calendars
Ever wanted to know if your unit is booked and if you can use it for a night or two? At Starfish Rentals and Realty, you are just a click away or a phone call away. We keep our availability calendars published openly for the benefit of both guests and owners. Owners can even block out dates for their own personal use via the owner portal. We work hard at making your life easier!
Reservations
We like to put ourselves in the shoes of the renter (since we like to travel too, we know what we would want or expect). We strive to answer all email inquiries within 4 hours and all phone messages are returned the day they call. We monitor our phones and email seven days a week. We have an emergency after hours line for our customers’ so they can rest assured they will always receive assistance. We understand the need for customer service!
Security Deposit
Security deposits allow owner’s and tenant’s peace of mind and allows an increased level of protection to ensure your investment is guarded against the unexpected. Security Deposits can cover damage, lost keys, lost household items, phone bills and cable charges. Tenants also have the option to use their security deposit as a down payment for next year's rental reservation. See Next Year's Booking Form, provided in your check-in packet or call our office for additional details. Tenants can expect their security deposit to be returned/disbursed in the form of a check mailed to your mailing address provided in your signed contract, at the close of the month, arriving on the (estimated) 15th of the month after your visit.

The Owners
Rusty and Lisa Sparrow are the owners of Starfish Rentals & Realty. Lisa began her real estate career in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area of North Carolina and Rusty has spent his entire career building homes on the island and in the Triangle area. After several years of managing their own rental properties, they relocated to Topsail Island to bring their customized-rental-approach to homeowners who are in need of more personalized services. Rusty, Lisa and the Starfish Team work together to ensure each property receives the management necessary to ensure a strong rental season while working with the property Guest's to ensure their vacation is one to remember!
